TN TRB Recruitment 2024: The Tamil Nadu Teachers Recruitment Board (TN TRB) has started accepting online applications for the Direct Recruitment of Assistant Professors in Tamil Nadu’s Government Arts & Science Colleges and Government Colleges of Education. The application process began today, March 28, and eligible candidates can apply on the official website trb.tn.gov.in until April 29 (until 5.00 PM).
The Assistant Professor exam for 2024 is expected to be held on August 4, 2024. This recruitment drive aims to fill a total of 4000 Assistant Professor positions in the state. To be eligible for these posts, candidates must be under 57 years of age as of July 1, 2024.

TN TRB Eligibility Criteria 2024
Age Limit:
Applicants must be below 57 years old as of July 1, 2024.
Education:
Candidates should have a Master’s degree with a minimum of 55% marks (or equivalent) in the relevant subject from an Indian or accredited foreign university. A 5% relaxation applies to certain categories. Additionally, candidates must have cleared the National Eligibility Test (NET) or hold a Ph.D. degree.
Pay Scale:
The salary for Assistant Professors ranges from Rs. 57,700 to Rs. 1,82,400 per month (Level 10).
Application Fee:
- For SC, SCA, ST, and Persons with Disabilities:
The examination fee is Rs. 300. - For All Other Categories:
The examination fee is Rs. 600.
The notification contains further details. Candidates who applied and paid the fees in response to notification no. 12/2019 dated August 28 and October 4, 2019, must reapply. However, they do not need to pay the online application fee again.
Steps to apply for TN TRB posts 2024
- Visit the official website trb.tn.gov.in.
- On the homepage, locate and click on the ‘Apply Online’ option.
- Select ‘Apply Online’ under the advertisement number 02/2024.
- Proceed by completing the registration and logging into your account.
- Fill out the application form, upload the required documents, pay the prescribed fee, and then submit your application.
- After submission, download a copy of your application and take a printout for future reference.
TN TRB Assistant Professor Selection Process 2024:
A. Written Examination:
- The date, time, and center for the written exam will be specified on the Hall Ticket.
- Hall Tickets will be available for download on the Teachers Recruitment Board website, and candidates must obtain them.
- The marks attained in the written exam will be published on the TRB website.
- Mere participation in the exam does not ensure selection.
- Visually impaired or orthopedically impaired candidates may request the assistance of scribes.
B. Interview:
- Candidates will be invited for interviews based on their performance in the written exam, following merit-cum-communal rotation.
- Interviews will be conducted according to Government norms.
