According to the AP RCET exam pattern 2024, the AP RCET 2024 conducts for two categories of candidates. Category I includes candidates who have completed Post Graduation in their respective subject and have qualified in GPAT (with a valid score), FDP/Teacher Fellowship program, or have obtained an M Phil degree. Furthermore, candidates who have qualified in UGC NET (including JRF), UGC-CSIR-NET (including JRF), SLET, or GATE (with a valid score) are also included in the Category. Category II comprises candidates who have completed Post Graduation in their specific subject but do not fall under Category I.

  • In the AP RCET 2024 exam pattern, questions will be in the form of Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs). The exam duration will be 140 minutes with no negative marking for incorrect answers. Each correct answer will be awarded 1 mark.
  • The exam consists of two parts: Part A and Part B. Part A covers topics related to Teaching and Research Aptitude, with a total of 70 marks. Part B focuses on subject-specific topics, also comprising 70 marks.
  • Part A, Teaching and Research Aptitude, is based on the syllabus of UGC NET Paper-I. Candidates must secure a minimum of 50% (General) and 45% (SC/ST/PWD) to qualify for the next round – Oral Interview. For both Category I and Category II candidates, securing at least 50% marks for OC candidates and 45% marks for BC/SC/ST/PWD is necessary to qualify for the interview.
  • After qualifying the AP RCET exam, candidates will face an interview, which carries 30 marks for Category I and 60 marks for Category II.
  • The total marks scored by the candidate in both the entrance test and interview determine the rank in AP RCET.
  • The medium of the exam for Part-A, covering all subjects including languages, is English only. Part B, apart from languages, is also conducted in English.
